JAWS (1975) (click title)

Oscar: One of the BEST movies in my lifetime. Got to see it in the movie theater. Super suspenseful, fantastic special effects (for the time). Also had one of the best-known theme (music) of ALL time. If you haven’t seen this movie…?!? It is an edge of your seat ride of horror, carnage, sometimes humorous and the music throughout was brilliant (Thank you John Williams!!!) This is one of the films that I still watch on occasion and it STILL gets me excited to see it!!!

Emmy: This movie still gives me nightmares if I watch it before bedtime!! Everything about this film is breathtaking… The scenery, the acting, the MUSIC.. Good job Steven Spielberg (and company) on scaring the **** out of a generation!!

Comments.

Hi Violet!! The D42 was the designation of the Destroyer Tender that I was on in the U.S. Navy back in the day. We were a supply/repair crew who aided other Navy ships in the pacific.

I was wondering same what the number signified. Thanks for answering. Was also wondering if you drew any of these favorites of mine: Green Mile, Sin City, Titanic or LA Confidential. Just wondering.

JAWS became the first ever Summer blockbuster! It shattered all box office records, and truly made people afraid to go in the water. But that was then, and this is now. Does it still hold up nearly forty years later? Is JAWS still an effective film that will make you think twice about taking a dip in the ocean? OH HELL YES!

Thank you Eric!!! Yeah, they sure had some really scary good films in the day. These “scary” films of today seem too rushed and want to rush to the scare instead of building it up slowly so that when the BOOO happens, it’s really scary!!!
