Oscar: I must say this is a great movie. A very entertaining film for all ages. It was the highest grossing film of 1985 and it is easy to see why. Directed by and co-written by Robert Zemeckis, this time traveling joy ride between a typical 80s teenager (Michael J. Fox) and nutty professor (played brilliantly by Christopher Lloyd) was an instant classic. The back and forth between 1980s and 1950s culture references were non-stop and on point!! I could not have imagined a better cast for this particular movie. I read that at one point they were going to cast Eric Stoltz as Marty Mcfly and you can even find screen testing with him as Mcfly. I couldn’t imagine anyone more perfect than Fox in this film.

Emmy: I love this film. Oscar and I re-watch on occasion and it is fantastic every time!! I also love the 50s music references (Chuck Berry’s cousin calling him was a great scene) …Rotten Tomatoes lists this film with a 93% FRESH with viewers giving it a 95% rating…well deserved on both counts… although Oscar and I would give it a 110% rating 🙂 Let us know what YOU think…

    Eric Stoltz was actually cast and filming had begun. It wasn’t until the scenes weren’t working as they’d hoped that marty was recast with Michael j. Fox. And yes, the whole series flourished after that switch. Funny cartoon. How do you think of the gags?

      Good morning Greg!! Thank you! Sometimes the comic comes to me instantly. Most of the time I think of the title of the comic and draw around that. I enjoy creating the cartoons… I LOVE all the feedback.

    Dude! You nailed Michael j Fox. I draw caricatures as well but not as good as you.

      I appreciate that Greg. I just kept at it – my first year drawing actors/actresses was pretty elementary but that is where everyone starts of course. I just kept at it..had the drive because of my love for Mort Drucker (Mad Magazine). It is like anything – if you keep at it you will only improve. I think also that if you really love drawing (specifically caricatures) you will continue to get better and better. I still not have reached a ‘comfortable’ skill level..not sure that anyone really does but I do know as well that I am self critical but that only drives me to concentrate and try to draw my best comics. WHATEVER YOU DO…DO NOT QUIT!!

    How long have you been drawing? How do you come up with the jokes?

      Hey Greg!! I have been drawing on a regular basis for about 30 years. When I was a kid my mom would bring home MAD Magazines once a month and boy I became hooked!! Mort Drucker’s drawings hit me like a rock and I am still not cured!!! I come up with the jokes on either the name of the movie/show or a famous episode or scene … sometimes a weird thought just enters my head and I draw around that!!! Even if it doesn’t entertain anyone, I like to draw famous people!!

    I love this whole franchise!! Did you know Crispin Glover was not in the second one? It was a lookalike. And Crispin Glover sued and won. Anyway I digress. Great comic. Funny.

      Hey Clay!! Nice fun fact about Glover!! I’m glad you enjoyed the comic..I enjoy doing them and love the input!! I really did like Crispin Glover in this movie … everything else I’ve seen him in he is just super weird!! See if you can find Crispin Glover on David Letterman on youtube…Dude was unhinged!!!
