Oscar: I fully realize that Van Halen’s Hot for Teacher video came out in the mid 80s but I do get some leeway as this is a dream sequence and a comic!!! ha-ha.. I was going to draw it around Mr. Hand (Fast Times at Ridgemont High) being the substitute in this comic but I already drew him in a comic about Ridgemont High that I will post at a later date. I faithfully watched Welcome Back Kotter in the 1970s until some of the cast members went on to other things like many sitcoms do. This show was lighthearted and grounded in the friendship of its characters making it a good watch for the time era.
Emmy: I love Oscar but damn that John Travolta was dreamy…ha ha Oscar just saw what I typed and said ‘so was Farrah Fawcett in Charlie’s Angels!!!’ I loved Welcome Back Kotter – all the actors were believable as High Schoolers back in the good old 70s!! The show also had dealt with some serious life issues at the time but was not heavy handed about it while keeping its light comedy. Great show and I miss the simpler times!!
